Indy 500 Race Festivities to Impact IndyGo Service through Memorial Day Weekend
Indianapolis — Tuesday, May 25, 2010 - Due to the Indy 500 Race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 30, and related events occurring on the days leading up to this annual Race, IndyGo’s westside service will be detoured and delayed now through the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 31.

Specific detour information is available on the Route Updates page of the IndyGo website: www.indygo.net/route_updates. Information about the detours (and assistance with navigating them) is available through the IndyGo Customer Service Call Center at 317-635-3344.

Indy 500 Practice, Qualifications, Carb Day
Based on traffic and street access, detours may be used now through Saturday, May 29, for Route 3 (Michigan St) Route 15 (Riverside), Route 25 (West 16th St), Route 30 (30th St Crosstown) and Route 38 (Lafayette Sq).

500 Festival Parade
Saturday, May 29, 2010
The IndyGo Bus Staging Area will be located on Alabama Street at South Street. Road Supervisors in the Downtown area will be available to provide detour information to passengers. Supervisors will monitor the parade and traffic, and they will make adjustments to the recommended detours as needed.

• Meridian Street from 30th Street to Ohio Street
• Pennsylvania from 16th Street to Ohio Street
• Ohio Street from Delaware to Capitol
• Maryland Street and Pennsylvania Street

Detours
Route 2 (East 34th St), Route 3 (Michigan St), Route 4 (Ft. Harrison), Route 5 (East 25th/ North Harding), Route 8 (Washington St), Route 10 (10th St), Route 12 (Beechcrest), Route 14 (Prospect), Route 15 (Riverside), Route 16 (Beech Grove), Route 17 (College), Route 18 (Nora), Route 38 (Lafayette Square), Route 39 (E. 38th St), Route 19 (Castleton), Route 21 (21st St), Route 24 (Mars Hill), Route 25 (W. 16th St), Route 28 (St. Vincent’s), Route 31 (Greenwood), Route 34 (Michigan Rd), Route 37 (Park 100) and Route 50 (Red Line/ IUPUI) will be detoured downtown to accommodate the Parade route.

Closed Stops
• Route 3: All stops on Michigan Street (west of Michigan plaza)
• Route 10: All stops on 10th Street (west of Wishard Hospital)
• Route 15: All stops on 30th Street (west of Riverside Park)
• Route 37: All stops on Michigan, New York, White River Pkwy and Lafayette Rd (to 38th St)
After the Race
• Route 5: All stops on Clifton (west of 30th Street)
• Route 38: All stops on 38th Street (west of Georgetown Road)

Detours
Route 3 (Michigan St), Route 5 (East 25th/ North Harding), Route 8 (Washington St), Route 10 (10th St), Route 15 (Riverside) and Route 37 (Park 100) will be detoured to avoid significant delays related to traffic at and near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In addition, Route 38 (Lafayette Sq) will be detoured in the event of heavy traffic and/or blockage of streets.

IndyGo drivers will make all regular stops along the detour route, and all routes will return to regular course as soon as possible.

Memorial Day Holiday
Monday, May 31, 2010
In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, IndyGo local service bus routes and the Open Door service will follow the Sunday/ Holiday Schedule. This means that the Red Line Circulator and the IndyGo Commuter Express (ICE) Routes will not be in service. The Green Line Downtown Airport Express will operate on a regular schedule.

IndyGo’s administrative offices, the Customer Service Center and Central Indiana Commuter Services (CICS), will be closed on Monday, May 31 for the Memorial Day holiday. Routes and services will resume regular weekday schedules on Tuesday, June 1.
