IndyGo Names New Manager of Marketing and Communications
INDIANAPOLIS (July 14, 2010) — IndyGo recently named Sarah Knight as its new manager of marketing and communications. She will be a key member of the business development team, which handles IndyGo’s customer service, community outreach, transit planning and bus scheduling.

In her new post, Knight will use her 10 years of public relations experience to guide media relations efforts as well as execute various marketing and communication initiatives benefiting the organization’s bus riders, community partners, employees and general public.

“Effective communication practices are vital to our success as we need to make sure that everyone in the community understands and supports our transit services,” said Samantha Cross, director of business development for IndyGo. “Sarah possesses a unique combination of personality and experience and I am thrilled to have her in this role. I am confident she will help our team take IndyGo transit services to the next level.”

Before joining IndyGo, Knight served as communications manager for Klipsch Group, Inc., an Indianapolis-based loudspeaker manufacturer. Prior to her seven-year employment with Klipsch, she was a communications specialist for the Indiana Child Care Fund and a public relations assistant for The Field Museum in Chicago.

Knight holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from Purdue University Calumet. She is also an active Public Relations Society of America member.
