Minor Service Adjustments on Two IndyGo Routes

INDIANAPOLIS, IND (October 2, 2012) – Three times each year, IndyGo service planners implement changes to bus route schedules based on the agency’s board-approved service standard guidelines. IndyGo planners constantly evaluate system performance and, if necessary, arrange revenue-neutral updates that will improve our transit system. On Sunday, October 14, service changes for this fall will take effect on two IndyGo routes.
Route 2 – East 34th Street – has been slated for minor adjustments in timing for one inbound trip on weekday mornings from the Crossroads industrial complex. The departure scheduled for 6:27 a.m. Monday through Friday will leave five minutes earlier. Subsequent time points on this inbound trip have been adjusted to accommodate for heavier traffic near downtown.

Route 16 – Beech Grove – will use a new location for its time point in Beech Grove to accommodate a new traffic flow at the intersection of Albany Street, Churchman Avenue, and 17th Avenue. The old location used to maintain the bus schedule was in front of the now-closed St. Francis Beech Grove Hospital. The new time point for this area will be at the intersection of Main Street and 17th Avenue.

Downloadable web schedules and updates to transit information on Google Maps are available now. Printed schedules will be available the week of October 8. To ensure you have the most current schedules, check the Effective Date (located at the top of the schedule cover page) which denotes timing changes, as well as the Updated Date (located at the bottom left corner of the schedule cover page) that denotes non-essential changes. The most current Effective and Updated Dates are listed on for each route.
