INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 27, 2014) – IndyGo is working to ready its fleet and staff for the dangerously low temperatures forecasted for Marion County over the next few days.
IndyGo will remain in operation throughout the extremely cold temperatures to provide essential transportation. The travel status for Marion County will remain at the Orange level which dictates only necessary travel should take place.
If however travel via IndyGo is necessary, passengers are encouraged to take the following precautions:
- Contact the IndyGo Customer Service Call Center at 317¬.635¬.3344, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for real-time bus arrival information to avoid extra time outside.
- Dress very warmly for waiting at bus stops as frostbite can occur in minutes.
- Route delays can also be found on IndyGo’s Twitter account, @IndyGoBus.
Temperatures are expected to begin rising around noon on Wednesday, Jan. 29, so if possible, passengers are encouraged to hold off on travel until this time.
