Monumental MarathonINDIANAPOLIS – IndyGo passengers should prepare for detoured, closed, and delayed bus service throughout Indianapolis due to the Monumental Marathon race on Saturday, November 7.

Street closures begin as early as 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and are expected to last through 4:30 p.m. in some areas. All stops in the downtown loop will be closed during this time and delays and detours will occur throughout the system as buses encounter roadblocks and extensive street closures. All passengers can board to make transfers downtown on the Southbound (West) Side of Indiana Avenue between Vermont and Michigan Streets. Most routes will have multiple closed bus stops during the Monumental Marathon.

The service disruption area is bounded on the north by 86th Street, on the west by Kessler Boulevard, on the south by Pleasant Run Parkway, and on the east by Oriental Street. Street closures will impact on-time performance for scheduled bus service in addition to Open Door American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit service. Customers should also be aware that the company’s online trip planner and information on Google Maps will not reflect changes to service due to detours. IndyGo advises passengers to select an earlier scheduled bus trip or make alternative travel arrangements to ensure they arrive to their destination on time.

Please visit our website or call the IndyGo Customer Service Center at (317) 635-3344 Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for more details.
