Regional Transportation: Options and Resources Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority (CIRTA) CIRTA is working to bring more transportation options that will better connect the
urban core of Indianapolis with suburban and rural communities in Marion, Hamilton,
Hancock, Shelby, Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks, Boone, Delaware and Madison counties.
Visit www.cirta.us or call 317.327.7585 for more information. Central Indiana Commuter Services (CICS) CICS is a federally funded program designed to reduce air pollution and traffic
congestion in Central Indiana. CICS offers commuting solutions to area employers and
employees in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan and
Shelby counties. These commuting solutions are alternatives to driving alone such as
riding IndyGo, carpooling, vanpooling, biking or walking. For more information, call
317.327.RIDE or log on to www.327ride.net. Near East Side Orbiter (NEO) The Near Eastside Orbiter is a public transportation circulator shuttle service
provided by the John H. Boner Community Center and connects to several IndyGo Local
Routes (Routes 3, 8, 10, 11, 17, 21 and 55). Separate fares are required. Visit
http://www.enn.org for more information. Hamilton County Express JANUS Developmental Services, operators of the Hamilton County Express (HCE) transit
service, provides reservation-based demand-response service and connects to several
IndyGo Local Routes (Routes 18, 19, 28, 34 and 37). Connections at Castleton
Square Mall, the Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing, Nora Plaza, St. Vincent

or call 317-773-2688 for more information. Access Johnson County The Johnson County Transportation Access Committee determines, plans for, implements,
maintains and evaluates the necessary resources for the transportation needs of all Johnson
County residents, with emphasis on elderly, disabled, low income and other mobility disadvantaged
citizens. The Access Johnson County service provides connectivity with several IndyGo Local
Routes (Routes 16, 22 and 31). Separate fares are required.

Megabus.com offers express bus service
from Indianapolis to Chicago, Cincinnati and
Columbus. All reservations are made online.
Megabus connects with IndyGo’s Route 8,
south of the City County building on Washington
between Alabama and Delaware Streets.

Amtrak and Greyhound
The Amtrak/Greyhound station is located at Illinois and South Streets, served directly by IndyGo’s route 16.

Holidays IndyGo observes seven national holidays when service will follow holiday schedules on all IndyGo routes. IndyGo holiday service runs on the Sunday schedule times, except for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which runs on a Saturday schedule. If a route does not offer Sunday service, then no service will be available on these holidays. IndyGo Observed Holidays:

NO SMOKING (1/29/2009) Effective immediately, there will be NO SMOKING in all IndyGo bus shelters and waiting areas per a city ordinance banning smoking. CITY-COUNTY GENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 44, 2005 - Proposal No. 45, 2005
Article II. SMOKING RESTRICTIONS Smoking shall be prohibited in all public places within Consolidated City including, but not limited to, the following places: (g) Public transportation facilities, including, but not limited to, buses and taxicabs under the authority of the city, the county, or the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation, and ticket, boarding, and waiting areas of public transit depots. The Marion County Health Department is overseeing enforcement of the ordinance. To file a smoking complaint for someone violating the no smoking ordinance, please call the Health Department at (317) 221-3333, or visit www.mchd.com. Artículo II.
