IndyGo Trip Planner IndyGo Trip Planner

Welcome to Trip Planner!

IndyGo operates 29 fixed routes throughout Marion County, offering riders several options for their transit needs.  This trip planner is an information tool that we hope you’ll find useful.  However, it’s not perfect.  Trip plans are generated automatically through complex computer algorithms.  Options you choose for “When” and “Travel Options” will impact your trip plan and may not always give the ideal plan.

Read the Trip Planning Tips below for some helpful suggestions.

If you’re questioning your plan, we urge you to verify it with our Customer Service Call Center at 317.635.3344, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday 7:00 am to noon.

Check out the helpful tips below for planning a trip on the IndyGo Trip Planner. We welcome your feedback at feedback@indygo.net.

Planning a Trip

  1. Choose a tab:

    IndyGo Trip Planner Origin

    • Landmark – This is the default tab for Origin and Destination.
    • Stop – This is helpful if you know the name of your bus stop.
    • Intersection – To help narrow your results, start with “City.”  Also, please note that directional information (North, South, East, West) comes after a street name.  For example, “E 16th St.” is entered as “16th St. E”.  Single digit street numbers (1st through 9th) must be entered as “01”, “02”, “03” etc.
    • Address – To help narrow your results, start with “City.”
    • Recent – This option is for return users.  Your computer will store information in the browser cache.

  2. Since IndyGo serves the metro area, it is important to select the appropriate city.  Begin to type your city, then select from the drop-down menu.

  3. Repeat for all fields.  Entering the first few characters for a street, landmark, or city will narrow the dropdown menu -- type then select.  Using the tab key to navigate these fields may be easier for you.

  4. Enter Destination information following the tips in steps 1 through 3.  If you are using the “Landmark” tabs and you don’t see what you’re looking for, let us know at tripplanner@indygo.net.

  5. Select a travel time.  The default is the current time.  We suggest ticking the “approximately” box to get the most efficient trip plan.

  6. Choose your Travel Options.  Many people prefer the option “Fewest transfers” for ease or navigation.  Since IndyGo is a “hub-and-spoke” system, downtown is generally the most convenient and comfortable place to transfer.

IndyGo Trip Planner Trip Plan

Our Trip Planner defines “walking distance” as ¾ of a mile or less.  If your origin or destination lies outside a ¾ mile radius of a bus stop, no trip plan will be generated.  However, there are still ways to use IndyGo!  All buses are equipped with bike racks, and many stops are located at shopping centers where you can “Park and Ride.”

To find the nearest bus stop, you can scroll the map tool that is integrated with the Trip Planner, or check out our system map to find the nearest route.

If you've never ridden the bus ... or if it's been awhile ... the resources available on IndyGo's "How to Ride" page offer tips and guidance to start.  Along with How to Ride videos, a Rider Guidelines brochure (in English and Spanish) is also posted there and available for download.  If you have questions in advance of your trip, please call 317.635.3344 or log onto www.IndyGo.net.  If you have questions while riding an IndyGo bus, please ask your operator.

Note that fare prices have changed since “How to Ride” video production.  Current fares are posted to the IndyGo Fares page  Also, the Blue Line circulator is no longer in service and the Red Line Downtown Circulator requires regular fare.

Enjoy your ride!
