Official Job Title: Full Time Fixed Route Operator

We are always accepting applications for professional coach operators. However, hiring typically occurs before our coach operator training sessions begin in July, November and March. Applicants will be tested, interviewed and notified of their hire well in advance of their actual start date.
This is a union position and anyone hired will be required to join the Amalgamated Transportation Union.
• Satisfactory work record
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must be able to read and write legibly
• Must be capable of comprehending and following written and oral instructions
• Must pass any job-related examination required by IndyGo
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license (no more than 2 points against license)
• Must have a Commercial Driver’s License (A or B) with passenger and air brake endorsements
• Must successfully complete IndyGo training
• Cooperate effectively with other people
• Excellent customer service skills
• Operate IndyGo vehicles in a safe manner
• Provide passengers with safe, courteous, and reliable transportation
Qualified individuals are welcome to complete an employment application at IndyGo’s offices located at 1501 W. Washington Street (corner of W. Washington and Harding streets). Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. An on-line application process is not available. Individuals will be required to show that they have the required driver’s license prior to receiving an application.
