At IndyGo, professional coach operators make up the majority of our staff. IndyGo is dedicated to thoroughly training these individuals before they start transporting the public.
New hires attend an 8 week training academy before operators are able to drive on the street. Professional coach operator training academy sessions occur every July, November and March. IndyGo is continually accepting applications for coach operator positions.
Before being hired and accepted into our intensive training academy, each candidate needs to ensure all requirements are met.
The hiring process can take up to six weeks. Download our hiring checklist.
Once an individual is hired, he or she will spend up to 8 weeks in our training academy covering a wide variety of topics, including defensive driving, accident prevention and reporting, fatigue awareness, emergency procedures, customer service, ADA compliance, radio procedures and fare structure.
