IndyGo only serves Marion County, but there are several other transit resources and options available throughout Central Indiana.
Megabus offers express bus service from Indianapolis to Chicago, Cincinnati, and Columbus. All reservations are made online. The Megabus pick-up and drop-off location is at Delaware St. and E. Market St., in front of City Market. A separate fare is required.
Amtrak offers daily train service between Indianapolis and Chicago. The station is located at Illinois and South Sts. A separate fare is required.
Commuter Connect works to reduce air pollution and traffic congestion, offering alternative transportation solutions to area employers and commuters in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, and Shelby counties. Alternative transit options include carpooling, vanpooling, riding public transit, biking, and walking.
Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority (CIRTA)’s County Connect coordinates existing transportation services across county lines to help a residents travel the region. For example, if a passenger lives in one county and has a medical appointment in another, they would likely need to use services from two providers to get to their destination. Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority (CIRTA)’s Workforce Connect allows riders to transfer from IndyGo’s routes to get to jobs during the weekday and some Saturdays. The North Plainfield Connector connects to IndyGo Route 8 with Adesa and the AllPoints Midwest industrial park. The South Plainfield Connector connects to IndyGo Route 8 with the South Plainfield industrial park area and the shops at Perry Crossing. The Whitestown Connector connects to IndyGo Route 37 and Route 86 with the AllPoints and Anson industrial park in Whitestown. A separate fare is required.
