During winter weather and the holiday season, IndyGo Operators are reminded to drive at safe speeds for impaired roads, be mindful of their following distance behind other cars, and to use caution when making stops. Many of these precautions aimed at keeping other drivers, pedestrians, IndyGo operators, and riders safe can often cause delays. IndyGo’s first and foremost goal is to move people in Indianapolis to and from where they need to go – safely.

Passengers are encouraged to take the following precautions during this holiday season, especially if inclement weather conditions occur:

  • Allow for extra travel time to and from your destination. Plan for delays due to icy streets, heavy snowfall, and traffic congestion.
  • Wear warm, highly visible clothing so you can be spotted at a bus stop.
  • Text the number “25370” with “Arrivals” and the 5-digit bus stop ID for real-time arrival information.
  • Use extra caution and watch your footing as snow and ice can make sidewalks, steps, and bus floors slippery. Hold onto the railing when boarding and exiting the bus.
  • Bundle up for potentially longer wait times at bus stops.

Contact the IndyGo Customer Service Call Center at 317.635.3344, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for real-time arrival and detour information. Event detours and route delays can also be found on the IndyGo website.
