Staff and Executive Team
Headquartered just west of downtown Indianapolis in the historic Duesenberg factory, IndyGo coordinates more than 700 IndyGo associates who work hard and diligently to provide Marion County with safe, dependable, convenient transportation demanded by modern life in a major metropolitan area.
Nearly 450 of our associates are proud members of the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1070, and they’re led by the following executive team.
Jennifer Pyrz is the interim president and CEO at IndyGo, where she is responsible for leading the agency of more than 750 employees and its fleet of more than 300 vehicles. Pyrz holds more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry, with nearly 10 years working directly with or for IndyGo. Over the last few months as the agency’s leader, she has successfully ushered IndyGo through the 2024 legislative session, defeating a bill that would have threatened dedicated bus lanes and IndyGo’s third Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, the Blue Line. She accomplished this while increasing the public’s awareness of how public transportation is essential in Indianapolis through testimony, meetings with legislators and community engagement. Additionally, she has further developed key policies involving the agency’s strategic plan and established and maintained vital partnerships with local and federal stakeholders to support agency goals.
Before becoming IndyGo’s interim president and CEO, Pyrz was the chief development officer. Leading up to her time in that role, she played a crucial part in executing IndyGo’s first all-electric BRT project, the Red Line. Once hired at the agency, she and her team took charge of developing IndyGo’s remaining BRT lines, the Purple and Blue lines, and led expansion plans for IndyGo’s new East Campus headquarters, which consists of the current administrative building and a future fleet terminal and maintenance facility. Other infrastructure projects she spearheaded include many planning initiatives in areas such as micro-mobility, transit-oriented development and network planning.
In her early years in the private sector, Pyrz was responsible for managing and providing technical analysis for a diverse range of projects, including environmental studies, traffic forecasting, transit analysis, transportation plans and BRT construction and architectural design. She received a bachelor's and master's degree in civil engineering from Purdue University in 1995 and 1997. She currently serves on the advisory board for WTS of Greater Indianapolis and the board of directors for Midtown Indy. She is the past president of Indiana Institute of Transportation Engineers and is an Eno Transportation Foundation Fellow.
Bart Brown joined IndyGo in 2019 as the VP Finance and CFO for IndyGo. He previously worked for the Indianapolis City-County Council. He was responsible for developing and overseeing the budget process and financial planning for the City-County Council. Brown also has over twenty-five years of financial expertise, as he has assisted both public and private sector entities in the oversight and planning of financial, administrative, and auxiliary functions. Additionally, Brown helped steward the City of Indianapolis’ through several budget-writing processes and efforts to promote high-quality public services. Bart has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Indiana University – Purdue University and a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington.
Marcus Burnside began working with IndyGo in Fall 2015 as a consultant and joined the IndyGo team in 2017. He has over 25 years of Information Technology experience, in both private and public sector organizations. He most recently served as CIO for the City of Lawrence, Indiana and previously worked for Monster.com, ITT Educational Services, Inc., and Kaplan Compliance Solutions. Marcus holds a Bachelors in Technical Management from Purdue University and an MBA in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. When Marcus is not working, he enjoys sports, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.
Robert Frye comes to IndyGo with extensive legal experience in Indiana where he’s been practicing law for nearly 30 years in corporate, private practice and government settings. He most recently served as legal counsel to the City of Indianapolis Department of Public Works for eight years. Prior to that, he also worked for the city’s Department of Metropolitan Development, owned his own private firm, managed litigation for a national banking institution, along with several other stints in different roles at DPW.
Frye earned a Bachelor of Science degree in public policy from Indiana University and his law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He is a lifelong Indy resident, where he currently lives. He and his wife enjoy traveling and visiting their three adult children in Los Angeles, Denver and Chicago.
Lesley Gordon is the Chief Public Affairs Officer for IndyGo, Indianapolis’ mass transit provider. Gordon has spent the majority of her career in the public sector working for agencies such as the Department of Public Works, Indianapolis Parks Department, Indiana Civil Rights Commission and the Attorney General’s office. Gordon has focused on finding strategic and grassroots communications efforts to inform the public of key initiatives for these essential agencies and implementing crisis communications strategies.
Gordon is also committed to giving back to the community and currently serves on the IndyHub, The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis and GANGGANG boards of directors. Gordon was born and raised in Indianapolis and considers herself an Indy enthusiast who takes pride in living, working and playing in her native city with her family, husband Colin, and children, Greyson and Olivia.
Before being named the Vice President of Government Affairs at IndyGo, Cam worked in the office of Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett as Director of Community Outreach. In this role, Cam worked to facilitate engagement between city agencies and neighborhood residents across Marion County. Projects that Cam helped to establish included the Mayor’s Neighborhood Resource Fair and Employ Indy’s youth jobs initiative known as “Project Indy.”. Additionally, Cam oversaw day to day operations of the Mayor’s Neighborhood Advocate program and served as an advisor to Mayor Hogsett on all neighborhood-focused engagement issues. Prior to joining Mayor Hogsett’s staff, Cam worked in the Office of U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly as his State Scheduler, handling travel logistics and meeting requests for the Senator and his State Director, Hodge Patel. Cam also served as the Senator’s statewide African American Outreach Liaison. Previously, he worked as Constituent Services Manager for Senator Donnelly, handling a portfolio that included Social Security, Labor, Small Business and Trade, Education, Judiciary, and state/local government issues. A native of Indianapolis, Cam is a graduate of Ball State University and holds a degree in Communications. He and his wife Samantha reside on the near northside.
Aaron Vogel currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for customer services, facility and fleet maintenance, life safety, mobility solutions, performance analytics, security, service planning, training and transportation. Vogel began working with IndyGo in Fall 2019 as Chief of Staff. In that role, he was responsible for organizing and coordinating staff functions and activities, guiding strategic business initiatives, providing oversight on projects of high importance and acting as consultant to the President/CEO. Vogel has been in the transit industry for more than 21 years, with experience in the private and public sectors, at small and large agencies, primarily in California, delivering quality service to the public. He has held various positions from manager, general manager and director and has worked with literally every mode of transit, from bike share programs, paratransit, fixed route, bus rapid transit, commuter shuttles, commuter rail, light rail, heavy rail, streetcar and other innovative on-demand and autonomous projects. Vogel holds a master’s degree in Transportation Management from San Jose State University.

Charlie Carlino is a graduate of Ben Davis High School. He has served in various retail management, information technology, and transportation positions in Central Indiana throughout his career. He served as the Lead Technology Specialist and Routing Specialist in the MSD of Wayne Township's Transportation Department, the Assistant Director of Transportation for Westfield Schools, and now serves as the Chief Administrative Officer to the President/CEO and Board of Directors at IndyGo in Indianapolis.
Charlie is a lifelong resident of the Westside of Indianapolis. In his free time, Charlie enjoys spending time with his daughter, Alexis, supporting our local sports teams, studying family genealogy, and playing trumpet.
