INDIANAPOLIS – (Nov. 21, 2025) IndyGo, in partnership with Second Helpings, is proud to present the first-ever Food in Transit: Winter Edition Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m. This special one-day event extends the long-running Food in Transit series into the winter season, offering Indianapolis residents free grocery staples and produce at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, located at 201 E. Washington St.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Second Helpings to offer this vital program beyond the usual summer months,” said IndyGo President and CEO Jennifer Pyrz. “This is a meaningful next step in supporting our riders and their families year-round with free, convenient, healthy food options.”
Food in Transit: Winter Edition continues IndyGo’s commitment to improving access to nutritious foods by bringing easy options directly to those who need it most. This marks the first time the program has taken place outside its traditional summer schedule.
“Winter can be a challenging time for many and access to fresh ingredients shouldn’t be another barrier,” said Second Helpings CEO Linda Broadfoot. “We’re proud to join IndyGo in making nutritious food available right where people are already commuting to work, school or medical appointments.”
Interested parties can use IndyGo’s online trip planner here to plan their trip to the Carson Transit Center and participate in the program.
