Transit is Essential for Strong Communities

IndyGo has been a trailblazer in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), launching one of the longest BRT routes, the Red Line, in 2019. The Purple Line is scheduled to launch in late 2024, and the Blue Line is scheduled for a 2027 launch. Together, these three lines will bring more than $400 million in safety enhancements and infrastructure improvements to the City of Indianapolis.

Coach Operator and Mechanic New Hire Incentives

IndyGo kicked off the new year with exciting announcements for new bus drivers and mechanics hired in 2024. The agency recently announced the extension of its $3,000 signing bonus incentive for new hires applying to become a coach operator or mechanic, which began July 1, 2023.  

To sweeten the deal, the IndyGo Board of Directors recently approved pay increases for these essential positions, effective Jan. 1, 2024. This increase was a result of a new collective bargaining agreement negotiated between IndyGo and Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1070 leadership.

Prepare for Winter Weather

IndyGo is preparing for the upcoming winter season, where heavy snow and ice accumulation are possible at times. The agency wants to remind riders of winter weather-ready transit riding tips as they plan to ride with us.
