Get to Downtown Tournament Events with Ease

From Friday, April 3, through Monday, April 6, IndyGo makes it simple to get to all the March Madness and Final Four festivities downtown.

Plan ahead, stay on schedule and enjoy every moment of the tournament weekend.

Please note: Some IndyGo bus routes may be on detour throughout the weekend. Check service hours and plan your trip in advance. Visit here for more information.

To plan your trip, you can choose one of three options:

  • Google Maps (choose transit option).
  • IndyGo’s Trip Planner.
  • Call IndyGo’s Customer Care Center – 317-635-3344.

Once you determine your route, go to your designated stop, board the IndyGo bus, pay your $2.75 fare (the cheapest ride in town!), and enjoy the ride without the stress of heavy traffic, parking downtown or long walking distances!

March Madness Events at the American Legion Mall

Riders attending March Madness events at the American Legion Mall can take Route 8 or Routes 2, 10, 19 and 28.

  • Individuals traveling westbound on Route 8 can use Washington Street toward downtown stops near North Pennsylvania Street.
  • Individuals traveling eastbound on Route 8 can use Washington Street with nearby stops at North Meridian Street and North Pennsylvania Street.
  • Individuals traveling on Routes 2, 10, 19 and 28 can use stops near Delaware and 9th streets or Alabama and 9th streets Super Stops.
  • The American Legion Mall is within walking distance of the highlighted stops.

Final Four Events at the Indiana Convention Center

Riders attending Final Four events at the Indiana Convention Center can take Route 8 or IndyGo’s Red and Purple Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines.

  • Individuals traveling westbound on Route 8 can use the Washington Street and Senate Avenue stop.
  • Individuals traveling eastbound on Route 8 can use the Maryland and Missouri streets stop.
  • Individuals traveling on the BRT lines can use the Statehouse Station, located near Capitol Avenue and Washington Street, and walk one block south to arrive at the venue.

Final Four Events at Lucas Oil Stadium

Riders attending Final Four events at Lucas Oil Stadium can take Routes 8, 24 or IndyGo’s Red and Purple BRT lines.

  • Individuals traveling westbound on Route 8 can use the Washington and Illinois streets stop.
  • Individuals traveling eastbound on Route 8 can use the Maryland and Missouri streets stop.
  • Individuals traveling on the BRT lines can use the Statehouse Station, located near Capitol Avenue and Washington Street, and walk one block south to arrive at the venue.

Final Four Events at White River State Park

Riders attending Final Four events at White River State Park can take Route 8.

  • Individuals travelling westbound on Route 8 can use Washington and West streets – White River Street stop.
  • Individuals traveling eastbound on Route 8 can use Washington Street and Schumacher Way.
  • White River State Park is within walking distance of the highlighted stops.

Final Four Events at Gainbridge Fieldhouse

Riders attending Final Four events at Gainbridge Fieldhouse can board nearly any route traveling toward downtown and use the Julia M. Carson Transit Center (CTC). Gainbridge Fieldhouse is one block south and within walking distance of the CTC.

Bike. Bus. Ball.: Free Transportation for Visiting Students

To make it easier for visitors – especially college students – to explore the city, Life in Indy is also launching Bike. Bus. Ball., a free transportation initiative offering access to both IndyGo and Pacers Bikeshare during March Madness and Final Four weekend.

Indy Chamber will provide 450 FREE Bikeshare Passes and IndyGo Bus Passes April 3-6, while supplies last.

How to Access Free Transportation

To get started, students must complete a quick form to receive access to both transportation options.

After submitting your email, you’ll receive:

  • A Pacers Bikeshare access code
  • Details on where to pick up your free IndyGo pass

Pacers Bikeshare Passes

  • Download the BCycle app
  • Enter your access code
  • Enjoy a free 30-minute ride

IndyGo Bus Passes

Pick up your free pass at one of the following locations:

  • Indiana Convention Center Information Centers
  • The INDEX
