
INDIANAPOLIS — IndyGo is a designated recipient of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding for the Section 5339 “Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities” grant program and the Section 5310 “Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities” grant program.
The Section 5339 grant program offers federal funding to support public transportation projects. As the designated recipient, IndyGo will host a Call for Projects webinar Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m., to discuss the program and make funding applications available.
Eligible recipients of Section 5339 funding include units of local government in the Indianapolis urban area providing public transportation and select nonprofit organizations. To be considered, projects must be submitted by an existing IndyGo subrecipient.
The 2025 Section 5339 Call for Projects will run from Dec. 15, 2025, to Feb. 6, 2026. Any applicants wishing to apply can learn more at the webinar Dec. 15. Register to attend the webinar here.
Eligible projects include capital projects such as vehicles, radio and communications equipment, wheelchair lifts and rehabilitation and support systems such as computer hardware and software. The estimated amount available for this Call for Projects is $600,000.
The Section 5310 grant program offers federal funding to support projects that provide transportation to older individuals and those with disabilities. As the designated recipient, IndyGo will host a Call for Projects webinar Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, from 9 to 10 a.m., to discuss the program and make funding applications available. The webinar will start with a short presentation and end with questions and answers. Potential applicants should arrive promptly at 9 a.m.
Eligible recipients of Section 5310 funding include private, not-for-profit organizations and authorized units of local government within Indiana. To be considered, projects must be derived from the Indianapolis Area Coordinated Transportation Plan, which can be viewed here.
The 2025 Section 5310 Call for Projects will run from Dec. 15, 2025, to Feb. 6, 2026. Any applicants wishing to apply must attend the webinar Dec. 15. Register to attend the webinar here.The grant application will be available following the meeting.
Eligible projects are for new “traditional” service(s), mobility management, and vehicles and equipment. New “traditional” service(s) receiving funding will require a 50% local match. The estimated amount available for this Call for Projects is $1 million.
