IndyGo Announces Partial Lane Closure on Washington Street Between Belmont Avenue and Harding Street Underway due to Blue Line Construction

INDIANAPOLIS — IndyGo’s work on the Blue Line, its third Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line, will close Washington Street from Belmont Avenue to Harding Street, and will last for approximately six months, starting on or after Monday, Dec. 1.

Riders will benefit from level boarding, fare collection through MyKey, real-time arrival signage, frequent service and covered stations for weather protection. Beyond transit, the project also brings major infrastructure upgrades to the Washington Street corridor. This includes new street paving, improved sidewalks and pedestrian crossings, and ADA-compliant curb ramps, making the corridor safer and more accessible for all.
