
INDIANAPOLIS — During the season of giving, IndyGo is showing its thanks to riders by giving back and providing fare-free service Thanksgiving Day. On Thursday, Nov. 27, riders can enjoy free rides on fixed route and IndyGo Access paratransit services.
Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule Thanksgiving Day. The Customer Care Center, IndyGo’s call center, will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Care Center Desk at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
IndyGo will also offer fare-free service on Christmas Day, as well as on New Year’s Eve after 8 p.m. Fixed route and IndyGo Access services will follow Sunday schedules on Christmas Day, with Customer Care Center hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Care Center Desk open from 9 a.m. to noon. New Year’s Eve will follow regular schedules.
Finally, fixed route and IndyGo Access services will follow Sunday schedules on New Year’s Day but with regular fare required. As a reminder, starting Jan. 1, 2026, IndyGo’s base fare will increase from $1.75 to $2.75 for fixed route service. Additionally, fare increases for IndyGo Access, as well as the discontinuation of various paper passes, will start July 1, 2026. Learn more about the changes here.
