INDIANAPOLIS – The Red Line Rapid Transit $75M Small Starts grant has been signed.
With this step complete, IndyGo will work through final preparations to begin construction.
“It is vital that IndyGo continue to be smart stewards of the public’s investment in bettering transit,” said IndyGo Board Chair, Danny Crenshaw. “Thanks to the hard work of the IndyGo management team, employees, and our congressional elected officials, the federal dollars are now secure and we are ready to move forward to break ground.”
Construction is anticipated to begin within the next 45 days on the southern portion of the route. A full construction schedule and live map are online at www.IndyGoRed.com.
The public and stakeholders will receive detailed information in the coming weeks about a groundbreaking celebration and start date. IndyGo encourages those interested in receiving information to sign up for the newsletter on www.IndyGo.net and follow on social media @IndyGoBus.
