INDIANAPOLIS (July 10, 2014) – IndyGo routes will be detoured in the downtown area and experience long delays as Indianapolis honors IMPD Officer Perry Renn at his funeral tomorrow, July 11.

Detours will begin at 6 a.m. in preparation for the 11 a.m. service at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse and will last through the afternoon. Road blockades will close all IndyGo stops:

  • South of Ohio Street
  • West of East Street
  • North of McCarty Street
  • East of Senate Avenue

To access IndyGo service in the downtown area, passengers are advised to board along Ohio Street between Senate and Capitol Avenues for all routes.

The procession is expected to begin at 2 p.m., causing major delays in the downtown area for several hours. Delays will continue to ripple across the system as buses approach the procession route until about 6 p.m. Passengers are asked to be patient and plan ahead as the procession moves throughout the city, generating halted traffic and subsequently long delays.

As with all special events, times are approximate and further changes to service could be made. Visit IndyGo.net, follow IndyGo on Twitter @IndyGoBus or call IndyGo Customer Service at 317.635.3344 between 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. for service updates.
