INDIANAPOLIS — IndyGo’s newest Board Member, Bill Stinson, recently retired from a 35-year career in public and private leadership roles. Most recently, Stinson worked as senior director of public affairs for the Indianapolis International Airport for eight years. As a member of the executive team, he was consistently immersed in all decisions involving marketing, public affairs and strategic planning. During Stinson’s tenure at the airport, he managed a team of approximately 16 people and a department budget of more than $2 million.
Stinson also worked as the director of new business development at Cripe Architects + Engineers, the executive director of the Indiana State Fair Commission, and as a deputy commissioner for the State Department of Administration and Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Additionally, Stinson served as the deputy director and director of the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office and led his own civil engineering, project management and consulting firm.
“We are very lucky to have Bill’s longtime leadership and expertise on our board,” said IndyGo Board of Directors Chairman Gregory Hahn. “Bill’s commitment to community service is evident in everything he does, and he’ll certainly play a pivotal role in continuing to elevate the IndyGo brand and reach.”
Stinson is a graduate of Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and has held several community engagement roles, including being a board member for Westside Chamber of Commerce, Heartland Film Festival, New Hope of Indiana and Indy Parks and Recreation. He’s also served as a team member for various planning organizations for Indianapolis-hosted events, including the 2024 NBA All-Star Game and the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials.
Stinson is married, and he and his wife have two daughters. He was appointed to IndyGo’s Board of Directors by Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett.
