INDIANAPOLIS — Beginning on or after Monday, Aug. 14, Alabama Street from New York to Vermont streets will undergo a full closure for approximately two weeks for bus pad construction on the next downtown Super Stop.

Vehicular traffic will be detoured around the closure using Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York streets. See motorist detour map below.

For riders, routes 2, 4, 5, 10, 19 and 38 will experience minor impacts. IndyGo buses will be detoured using North, East and Ohio streets. Passengers can access a temporary bus stop on East Street. See rider detour map below.

After the two-week closure, traffic will reopen, and work will be confined to the lane adjacent to the platform.

As a reminder, IndyGo is bringing the comfort, convenience and reliability of Bus Rapid Transit to local fixed route service through the downtown Super Stops project. This work involves upgrading some of Indianapolis’ busiest downtown bus stops to include ticket vending machines, near-level boarding, bus shelters and longer platforms to serve more buses at once.
