INDIANAPOLIS  – On Sunday, June 10, IndyGo will implement the second round of local bus route improvements as part of the Transit Plan’s 70% increase in service.
IndyGo is focused on improving stop efficiency and building a strong network of frequent service that is more useable and convenient by adding trips 7 days a week.

Direct benefits to riders starting Sunday, June 10, include:

  • 200 plus trips added on Routes 3, 10, 31, 34, and 37
  • Doubling weekday service for Routes 3 and 34
  • Increasing Saturday Route 10 frequency to 20 minutes
  • Doubling Sunday Route 31 & 37 service

Other changes to riders include:

  • Minor timing changes will be made to Route 17, 22, and 24.
  • Stops discontinued and shelters removed at Westbound stops at Ohio/Pierson & Ohio/Pennsylvania.

Eastbound stops across Ohio Street will not be affected. All affected riders should use the Ohio/Meridian stop starting June 10.

All details on the specific improvements can be found at http://www.IndyGo.net/TransitPlan.

“By June, there will be more than 450 weekly transit trips added this year,” says IndyGo president and CEO, Mike Terry. “We are excited as these improvements, along with the groundbreaking for Red Line construction, are a significant gain in momentum for the implementation of the Marion County Transit Plan.”

The Transit Plan will bring a 70% increase in IndyGo services and build a strong network of frequent service. Improvements in the plan include shorter wait times, longer service hours, easier transfers, and rapid transit lines along high ridership corridors.

IndyGo encourages affected riders on Routes 3, 10, 17, 22, 24, 31, 34, and 37 to pick up new schedules. Downloadable schedules are now available online and printed schedules will be available the first week of June.
