INDIANAPOLIS (July 16, 2021) – Advancing mobility, creating innovative transit opportunities and continued excellence in customer service are just a few of the advancements that earned IndyGo its first perfect score on the latest Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Triennial Review. This review is conducted every three years and examines the operations of all transportation agencies nationwide that receive federal grant dollars, to ensure they are meeting FTA requirements and policies. IndyGo showed no deficiencies and was found in compliance with all 21 areas of inspection, including operations, finance, maintenance, civil rights and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, grant management, service planning, and general management and organization.

“Very few agencies get a perfect score, so this is huge,” said Inez Evans, IndyGo president & CEO. “I’ve worked in transit for more than 30 years, been involved in these reviews at every transit agency I’ve ever worked for and there’s always at least one or two findings. This is only the second time an agency I’ve been involved with has received a perfect score and I’m excited to lead the IndyGo team to this achievement as a first-time CEO.”

A key part of IndyGo’s preparation for the review included a pre-audit process to evaluate where the agency could strengthen its’ operations. The perfect score further emphasizes IndyGo is a good steward of taxpayer dollars with all of its policies and procedures in place, enhancing its mission to connect the community to cultural and economic opportunities through safe, reliable and accessible mobility experiences. The FTA awarded IndyGo a Certificate of Excellence following the exhaustive review process.

IndyGo operates 30 fixed routes, including the Red Line bus rapid transit route throughout Marion County, Indiana and serves more than 2,800 bus stops utilizing a fleet of nearly 220 buses.
