INDIANAPOLIS – IndyGo received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

This award was established in 1945 to encourage publicly funded organizations and agencies to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that go beyond minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting practices in exhibiting transparency, and to recognize individual organizations that succeed in meeting that goal. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Additionally, an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to the individual primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR: Nancy E. Manley, VP of Finance, CFO/Controller.

“We are happy to see Nancy and the Finance Department receive the recognition they deserve for responsible government accounting and reporting,” stated President and CEO, Mike Terry. “This award demonstrates our commitment to sound financial management and transparency.”

IndyGo’s CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, specifically demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate others to read the CAFR.
