INDIANAPOLIS (May 19, 2014) – On Thursday, May 22, IndyGo is hosting an information and networking event for the vendor community on upcoming contracting opportunities. One goal of the program is to promote IndyGo’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program. As a recipient of Federal Transit Administration funds, IndyGo must set goals to contract with qualified disadvantaged businesses. The vendor information and networking event agenda will include short presentations on how to become DBE certified, IndyGo’s DBE policy and goals, and an overview of upcoming projects.
The most notable upcoming IndyGo project is the Downtown Transit Center. The info session will provide an expected timeline for procurement and possible trades needed to complete the project. In addition to the Transit Center, IndyGo staff will offer information on five other upcoming construction procurements. After the program attendees will have an opportunity to network.
