INDIANAPOLIS – All rides on IndyGo will be free on Wednesday, April 4 to honor and recognize the Kennedy King Memorial Initiative’s 50th Anniversary Commemoration.

Additionally, transit routes to and from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park at 17th and Broadway will have boosted service to accommodate the larger crowds for both the 10:30 a.m. event titled “Still We Reach: Community Reflection and Conversation” and the 50th Anniversary Commemoration being held at 5:00 p.m..

Routes 5 and 17 will have added bus service before and after each event.
Riders may also take Routes 2 and 4 to the park.

IndyGo Transit Ambassadors will be at the Transit Center helping new and veteran riders hop on the correct bus.

“KKMI appreciates IndyGo’s support and recognition of the 50th Anniversary commemorative event on April 4, 2018 by boosting service and offering free rides,” said Representative Greg Porter, KKMI Board Chair. “By providing a vital service to the community as a transit provider, it will ensure transportation is not a barrier to those who wish to attend this historic event in Indiana history.”

Riders may plan a trip using Google Maps by selecting the bus icon, online at www.IndyGo.net, calling customer service at 317-635-3344, or simply by finding a Transit Ambassador at the Transit Center.
