INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 23, 2014) – IndyGo invites Indianapolis residents, passengers and community leaders to the official groundbreaking ceremony of the Downtown Transit Center.

“We’re extremely excited for the construction of the transit center to begin,” says Mike Terry, president and CEO of IndyGo. “Once in operation, it will greatly enhance the passenger experience offering real-time arrival information, safe and convenient transfers and an indoor waiting area.”

The festivities will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 12 – 2 p.m. at the future site of the Downtown Transit Center, located on the southeast corner of Washington and Delaware Streets. Beginning at noon, attendees can see a large scale exhibit of the transit center with interactive components that will offer insight to the enhanced experience that passengers can expect at the Downtown Transit Center.

At 1 p.m. remarks will be made by Mayor Greg Ballard, Council President Maggie Lewis and IndyGo President and CEO, Mike Terry, followed by the ceremonial groundbreaking.
