Traffic Changes:
Beginning on or after Monday March 4, traffic along Meridian Street will switch from the west side of the street to the east side of the street. One lane will remain open. Flaggers will be used to direct traffic.
Temporary Lane Closures:
During the following temporary lane closures, drivers are encouraged to heed all signs and flaggers to safeguard workers, drivers, and pedestrians along the construction route. Access to all businesses and residences will be maintained.
Shelby St at Raymond St
On or after Tuesday March 5, one southbound lane of Shelby Street will be closed south of Raymond Street for one block and for 2 hours. This temporary closure will allow steel to be placed at the station.
Shelby St at Southern Ave / Garfield Park
On or after Friday, March 15, crews are expected to close both lanes of traffic on Shelby Street north of Southern Ave (Garfield Park station) for 20-30 minutes. Lanes will be restricted within the hours of 9a – 1p to place steel at the station.
Virginia Ave at Woodlawn Ave
Starting on or after Monday, March 18, a week-long closure is necessary on Virginia Avenue just north of Woodlawn Ave for approximately one-half block. The closure will facilitate station foundation work, bus pad reinforcement work, and canopy installation
Meridian St at 34th Street
On or after Wednesday February 27, the northbound lane of Meridian Street will be closed north of 34th Street for one block between 9a – 1p. This temporary 4-hour closure will allow steel to be placed at the station.
Meridian St at 38th St
On or after Friday, March 8, a one-block section of Meridian Street will be closed in both directions for a one-block section south of 38th Street. This temporary 4-hour closure (between 9a – 1p) will allow steel to be placed at the station.
