Sustaining a Service that is Efficient, Effective and Essential for Our Riders
At IndyGo, we’re more than just the largest public transportation provider in the State of Indiana. We care for our community and strive to make sure every individual has access to essential resources that positively affect their health, happiness and overall well-being.
Our 28 bus routes serve nearly 7 million people annually across about 400 square miles. Most of our riders use the Red Line, the Purple Line, Route 8, which is home to the future Blue Line, and Route 10. Together, these routes cover the city from Broad Ripple to the University of Indianapolis and from the Indianapolis International Airport to Cumberland.

Focus on Accessibility

IndyGo Access is a reservation-based, shared-ride service. IndyGo provides IndyGo Access services to those who meet the criteria established by the U.S. Department of Transportation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Although federal regulation requires service within only ¾ of a mile, IndyGo Access operates throughout all of Marion County, seven days a week and with the same hours as local service.

IndyGo Cares
IndyGo’s mission is to connect our community to economic and cultural opportunities through safe, reliable and accessible mobility experiences. Through IndyGo Cares, our community outreach program, we bring these opportunities directly to our riders. Click below to learn more.

Emergency Support from Transit
When we receive requests from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Emergency Medical Services, Indianapolis Fire Department or the State of Indiana Emergency Operations Center, we will supply buses for cooling, heating, mass transportation and emergency shelter. In non-emergency moments, we work with our emergency partners to supply buses for them to use during training. This includes police SWAT teams, Transportation Security Administration bomb and explosive dog training, and various fire departments that then become experienced with our equipment in case an emergency may occur.

Community Engagement
IndyGo is committed to creating and managing a service that is efficient and effective for our ridership. Our community engagement efforts enable us to better understand our riders’ needs and plan service that works for them.
We participate in travel trainings, presentations to neighborhood and community groups, public meetings, community events, and tabling throughout the city to ensure we’re reaching our riders and the public that are interested in our service and projects.
