INDIANAPOLIS — The Emmy award-winning concert web series, “Music in Transit,” is BACK for its seventh season. IndyGo and its partners are eager to invite the public to attend the free filming! This year’s taping of performances by emerging, Indianapolis-based musicians is happening Friday, May 9, through Sunday, May 11. Filming will take place from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily in Fountain Square at the World Famous HotBoys restaurant, 1004 Virginia Ave.

To kick things off, there will be a Block Party Friday, May 9, from 2-7 p.m., at the filming site. The event will feature DJs, vendors, giveaways and FREE chicken (while supplies last).

Be part of the action, enjoy the live music, see behind-the-scenes filming and experience the unique intersection of art, culture and public transit. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends, order hot chicken and soak up the sounds of this year’s performers, including:

  • Duke Tumatoe
  • Clayton Anderson
  • Best Noodles In Town
  • Tavonne
  • Radio Flower
  • Malingo
  • Chreece in Transit Hip Hop Features

Like last year, this season of “Music in Transit” is running in partnership with IndyGo, Square Cat Vinyl and GANGGANG. However, the stage will be set on IndyGo’s 50th Anniversary bus turned pop-up venue. This festive backdrop commemorates 50 years of IndyGo connecting Indianapolis residents and visitors to life’s opportunities and adventures since its journey started as Metro in 1975. The new season of “Music in Transit” will be available on Square Cat Vinyl’s YouTube channel, with the first video debuting later this summer. Additional music videos will be released every Sunday at noon following the season seven premiere.
