INDIANAPOLIS (January 9, 2017) – IndyGo will host 9 Transit Talks in January and February to share information about the Red Line construction schedule, local route improvements, and next steps for other components of the Transit Plan.

Transit Talk open houses beginning next week will be located along the Red Line corridor, where IndyGo staff will be available to give updates and answer questions about transit projects in the city.

The Red Line rapid transit project is anticipated to begin construction in the 1st quarter of this year, with the line opening for service in 2019. Residents are encouraged to visit www.IndyGoRed.com for tools to monitor construction schedule. IndyGo will continue to communicate with the public through various mediums on construction updates.

Local routes are seeing the first round of improvements with more than 250 new trips per week starting in February. Service on the weekends is nearly doubling for routes 8 and 39, with brand new service added on Sundays for route 87. Additional weekend and evening service will also benefit those riders who use routes 3 and 10. Visit www.IndyGo.net/TransitPlan for more details.

The Transit Plan will improve service by 70%.
